Old Earth Objects – Reactivation Sequence re-leaches Iain Ball’s 2009–2010 project as a set of 1/1 collaged image compositions. Conceived in the late 2000s alongside the post-internet milieu and the R-U-IN?S network, Old Earth Objects was an object-based constellation that treated consumer electronics and high technology through a darkly ritualistic, techno-occult lens. Core matter included a Sony Rolly, Cyber Clean, a Philips sensual massager, a Philips squid surge protector, and a Pan Aroma air freshener, set against obsidian, flint, and a quartz crystal skull. The collages fuse trade-show spectacle, corporate brands, hygiene products, microscopy, and occult hardware — consumer geology read as hidden mythology and energy.
